A LONG wait has come to an end for TNS with the capture of Graham Evans, one of the
Welsh Premier League’s all-time leading goal scorers.
Saints have tried twice before to lure the Caersws marksman to Treflan and finally got their man when Evo signed
on the dotted line last night.
A Welsh Schools Under-18 and semi-professional international, Evans has twice won the Welsh Premier's
golden boot award, scoring all his 132 goals in 191 appearances for his home
village side.
The 25-year-old son of long-time Bluebirds' manager Mickey Evans, Graham spent
two seasons on contract with Aston Villa in the middle of his Welsh Premier career and decided
to take a second chance of full-time football last summer following successful
trials with Hereford United.
But he has been unable to command a regular place in the starting line-up and manager Graham Turner agreed to allow the player to talk
to the Saints.
"I have been a long time admirer of Graham and have tried to sign him a couple
of times previously," says TNS manager Ken McKenna.
"His arrival will stimulate the other strikers in our squad and I am sure he will continue his prolific scoring in our colours."
Evans will wear squad number 11, the shirt vacated by John Lawless. |
