TNS v Caersws FC
Welsh Premier League
Friday 27 January 2006: Home - Treflan
TNS Scholarship youth Rob Williams could be handed a surprise Welsh Premier debut as manager Ken McKenna struggles to field a fit defensive unit against Caersws. With Martyn Naylor still sidelined and Tommy Holmes a doubt, the boss may thrust former Blackpool Wren Rovers central defender Williams into the limelight alongside Steve Evans in a re-vamped backline. But McKenna has no qualms about throwing the youngster in at the deep end, despite having just two minutes of previous league experience after coming on as a late sub at Bangor on Sunday. Michael Jackson is also likely to be named at right back as Saints go in search of their 17th league win of the season.
New signing Graham Evans has received international clearance after joining from
Hereford United but could well sit out this game against his old club, managed by father Mickey.
The Bluebirds' main problem is firepower - their leading scorer is former Shrewsbury
Town man Ross Stephens with five! So TNS can expect a defensive approach from
the visitors, with veteran centre-half Hugh Clarke set to make his 300th appearance for the club. |
