FORMER Treflan favourite Ricky Evans has left Bangor City to sign for Aberystwyth Town.
The 27-year old midfielder had been at Farrar Road since leaving TNS in August 2002, and was the subject of a seven day notice of approach from the Seasiders.
He rejoins former Citizens Phil Baker, Chris Short and Marc Lloyd Williams at Park Avenue.
It is reported that Evans refused to discuss the move or the possibility of improved terms to stay at Bangor, having been offered a signing-on fee and a more secure contract by Aberystwyth.
Ironically, Bangor boss Peter Davenport has recently been trying to strengthen the club's midfield, so the loss of Evans will be a major blow at a time when the Farrar Road outfit are losing touch with the league leaders.
Ricky spent three years at Oldham Athletic and has also played for Welshpool Town and Flint Town United.
He made 125 appearances (15 as sub) for TNS between 1998 and 2002, scoring 16 goals.
There are rumous that Bangor striker Lee Hunt may also be on the move to another Welsh Premier club.
