News story
THE football world is mourning the tragic loss of Manchester City loan star and Cameroon international, Marc-Vivien Foe.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who had a successful season on loan at Maine Road last season, collapsed during Cameroon’s Confederations Cup match with Columbia.
He fell to the ground unchallenged with 18 minutes of the game remaining and was treated on the pitch by medical staff before being stretchered off where attempts were made to revive him over 45 minutes.
Although a post mortem will be carried out on the player it is believed he may have suffered a heart attack.
Keegan had made moves to sign the former West Ham United player permanently but his club Olympique Lyon were asking for £7 million.
Foe was a popular figure with the Blues' crowd during his year at the club and was the season's second top scorer with nine goals during his 35 games with City.
His loss will be keenly felt not just by Blues fans and his club Lyon, but by football fans the world over.
