LEE TARGETS TOP SIX FOR NOMADS
CONNAH'S Quay are just three or four players short of breaking into the Welsh Premier's top six, according to assistant manager Andy Lee.
"We have to look to bring in new players in January because you have to keep looking to improve and with the addition of three or four we can push on because at the moment the squad is a bit thin," says Lee, manager at Congleton Town last season before linking-up with Jim Hackett on Deeside.
"I think we can add to all areas of the pitch. We need cover at centre-half, maybe another central midfielder and cover down the left hand side of midfield. We have to be careful though because we have a young side with a great team spirit already in place."
News that striker Adam Dickinson is close to full fitness has come at the right time as Lee explains. "We are a bit short upfront but Adam will be back in three to four weeks and that will be like having a new signing for us because he has only played 20 minutes this season."
Lee admits even in his short time coaching in the Welsh Premier he has been impressed with the standard of football. "It's a hard physical league but I feel it's as professional a league you can get without everyone being full-time," he added.
