WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE
LLANELLI AFC 1-1 THE NEW SAINTS
Fri 19 Sep 2021 / Stebonheath Park
John Leah
and Mike Wilde celebrate with scorer John Toner [Mike Greenslade].
A 90TH-minute goal credited to John Toner rescued a point for The New Saints in a 1-1 draw
at Llanelli's Stebonheath Park.
The game was goal-less until the 83rd-minute when a long throw from the Reds' Craig Williams
was headed away by Saints' midfielder John Leah, but fell to centre-half Wyn Thomas who lashed
it into the net from 20 yards.
With time running out, the Saints looked destined for a second consecutive defeat at Stebo, before Jamie Wood won the ball in midfield and fed Michael Wilde, whose cross was turned into his own net by Chris Holloway under pressure from Toner.
Earlier in the game, sub keeper Lee Williams was red-carded from the bench by referee Mark
Whitby on the intervention of fourth official Dean John.
