BECK OUT AS TNS SIGN REDS' WINGER
Steven Beck was man-of-the-match when TNS won the FAW Premier Cup in 2006.
TNS have bade farewell to midfielder Steven Beck, who is joining Droylsden, while swooping for Llanelli wingman Craig Williams.
A former England Under-16 international and Everton youth, Beck arrived at the club in 2003 after being released on a free from Goodison Park.
At his best, the 24-year-old's silky skills have been a major contributor to the Saints' success in recent times, but a lack of consistency meant he only managed 87 full Welsh Premier appearances over his five full seasons with the club, scoring 27 goals.
However, he did pick-up three Welsh Premier winners' medals and partipated in the Welsh Cup and League Cup wins, also scoring the winning goal and being voted man-of-the-match when Saints won the FAW Premier Cup.
Beck is joining two former TNS team-mates at the Blue Square North Bloods - strikers Kevin Townson and Carl Lamb - who made the move during the summer.
New arrival Craig Williams played for Carmarthen and had trials for Southampton before playing at Taffs Well and following manager Nick Tucker to Llanelli. He has scored 27 goals from 93 appearances for the Reds.
"Llanelli AFC were contacted by TNS this week enquiring whether we would be willing to sell Craig Williams before the transfer window closed," says Reds' chairman Nitin Parekh.
"Llanelli AFC can now confirm that this transfer has been completed. The club has always had the view that it should not stand in the way of a player should they wish to move.
"This was the third time that TNS had contacted Llanelli AFC about Craig, and the club felt it appropriate to at least let Craig explore the situation for himself.
"Subsequent to his discussion with TNS, Craig felt that he had been made an offer which he simply could not turn down."
