Lee Trundle
RHYL will miss out on a 20,000 windfall, following former striker Lee Trundle's decision to leave Wrexham.
The Dragons were only due to pay the final instalment of the 65,000 transfer if Trundle signed a new contract with the Nationwide Second Division club.
Trundle (pictured) joined the Dragons from Rhyl in 2001 for a fee believed to be worth in the region of 50,000.
However, it has since been revealed that the fee would rise to over 75,000 if Trundle agreed to sign a new two-year contract at the Racecourse Ground.
However Trundle, aided by his agent, has found several Second and Third Division clubs who are prepared to offer him more money than Wrexham.
It seems likely that he will decide to team up with the man who brought him to the Racecourse, Brian Flynn, who is now director of football at Swansea, who escaped relegation to the Conference by just one point last season.
Trundle had said just three months ago that he 'wants to play at the highest standard possible'.
