BANGOR City have been forced to make late changes to their preparations for the Uefa Intertoto Cup. The north Wales outfit have been told they will face Romanian side Gloria 1922 Bistrita in the first round and not Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt as originally thought.
Bangor have already made travelling arrangements after receiving assurances from the Romanian and Welsh Football Association that Ceahlaul would be their opponents.
But Uefa announced today that Bangor are playing Gloria. Ceahlaul have been drawn against Tampere United of Finland.
It is believed that a mistake by the Romanian FA while registering their entrants for the competition caused the confusion.
The consolation for Bangor is that both Gloria and Ceahlaul are closely situated in the Transylvania region of Romania so any changes to travelling arrangements will be minimal.
The first leg is at Rhyl's Belle Vue on 21 June (ko 3.00 pm).
