ALTHOUGH there was general euphoria at Friday night's 6-0 hammering of Caernarfon Town, one TNS squad member was visibly downhearted.
Rob Williams, who has yet to make an appearance for the Saints in the Welsh Premier this season, cut a forlorn figure as a spectator as he again found himself excluded from the side and was not even named on the bench for the game with the Canaries.
The 21-year-old - seemingly low down the pecking order behind Mike Taylor, Duane Courtney and Tommy Holmes - instead finds himself consigned to the Spar Mid Wales League with the TNS Reserves and is desperate to gain more top flight experience.
But, although he is on the wanted list for both Caersws and Gap Connah's Quay, the Saints have refused to contemplate a loan deal for the centre-half, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Newtown in 2006/7, making 11 appearances and highly-rated by Robins' boss Darren Ryan.
While Williams, who made seven Welsh premier starts for TNS last season, languishes in the Reserves, friend and fellow TNS scholarship product Mark Davies is flourishing following his summer move to Caersws.
The wing-back has started in all of the Bluebirds' league and League Cup games this season, scoring once.
