SAINTS HOST GUILSFIELD IN WELSH CUP
IN a local derby which is sure to attract a good crowd to Park Hall, The New Saints will host Guilsfield in the second round of the FAW Welsh Cup on Saturday 4 October.
Last season's exit on Deeside denied TNS a tie with Guilsfield.
Ironically, had TNS not lost their second round game on penalties at Connah's Quay last season, they would have met the Cymru Alliance villagers in the third round.
Instead, the Guils, who had already beaten Airbus UK Broughton, went on to defeat the Nomads and Caernarfon Town, before making a brave exit in the last eight to Bangor City.
Once again managed by Mike Barton, who made five goalkeeping appearances for the Saints, Guilsfield are currently 10th in the Alliance.
The draw has thrown-up four all-Welsh Premier ties, with Porthmadog at home to Caernarfon, Airbus hosting Welshpool and Llanelli facing Neath at Stebonheath Park.
Bangor City are at home to the Nomads, who will be out to topple the cup holders now managed by their ex-boss Nev Powell.
The draw in full: Aberystwyth v Afan Lido, Airbus v Welshpool, Bala v Prestatyn, Bangor v Gap Connah's Quay, Brickfield v Buckley, Bridgend v Cwmbran, Bryntirion v Cardiff Corries, Cambrian & Clydach v Newtown, Carmarthen v Bow Street, Denbigh v Nantlle Vale/Chirk AAA, Dinas Powys v Briton Ferry, Flint v Mold, Garden Village v Risca, Gresford v Rhydymwyn, Holyhead v Llay Welfare, Lex v Glan Conwy, Llandudno Jct v Pwllheli, Llanelli v Neath, Llangefni v Llanfairpwll, Llangollen v Tywyn Bryncrug, Llanwern v Llwydcoed, NEWI Cefn Druids v Halkyn United, Newport CS v Caersws, Newport YM v Cwmbran Celtic, Penrhyncoch v Maesteg Park, Pentwyn Dynamos v Ammanford, Pontypridd v Haverfordwest, Porthmadog v Caernarfon, Port Talbot v ENTO Aberaman, Rhyl v Castell Alun, Taffs Well v Goytre Utd, TNS v Guilsfield.
