Easy win this year, far too much quality throughout the squad and even though one man supposedly doesn't make a team, Moran almost single handedly won it for Rhyl last year. I think without him they will struggle for goals on a consistent basis while Saints, with Jiws continuing the way he's started, will have a 150% better chance than last year as the forwards found it hard to stick the goals away late in the season.
At the end of the day, Jiws will reach 35+ and Saints will have it won by Easter. |

The difference this year with Saints is the core of the squad. While there hasn't been a great change in personnel from last year, the structure of the side is far better now than previously. Ged Doherty has improved five-fold since Deano left, maybe due to the extra responsibilty, and in Steve Evans, providing he stays trouble-free, we have by far and away the best centre back in the WP. Scott Ruscoe is a proven player, illustrated by his performances for the Welsh semi-pro side and there really isn't much more you can say about Jiws, he is still far from full fitness and yet he offers so many options and never looks like having a barren spell - it doesn't look like he's had one yet in his WP career. That is a fantastic backbone to the side, a backbone you would hope can play 35+ games together this year and get those points on the board. Add players like Mike Wilde who is still improving, John Toner who has just notched his 100th goal and others like Nicky Ward, Johnny Leah when he's back to full fitness and the flair of Nails and it is a helluva formidable side. I'm just glad such players are playing for TNS not any of the other 17 league sides. At least 3 trophies coming back to Treflan this year. |
