Lawless finds the solution

SAINTS deservedly pocketed three points against Aberystwyth in a game they often dominated but were never able to put to bed until the last kick of the night.
Barry Hogan's 90th minute strike from a Michael Wilde pass gave the scoreline a realistic look, but TNS should have had more to show for their first half efforts than Wilde's 11th minute goal.
After visiting keeper Lewis Solly had turned a Scott Ruscoe 25-yard free-kick round the post, Lawless released Ruscoe whose low cross from the left was steered in from eight yards for Wilde's 17th league goal of the campaign.
Apart from an early strike which Paul Moore dragged wide, the Seasiders offered little threat and John Toner was unlucky not to convert a Lawless pass, while the winger himself hit the post from a narrow angle after being put in by Wilde and taking the ball round Solly.
Saints struggled to maintain their momentum and the substitution of Freddy Thomas for Andrew Mumford added some steel to the Aber rearguard, with little in the way of further chances before the break.
But Aber clawed their way back into the contest 10 minutes into the second-half, with a fine individual effort from the excellent Jonathan Coates.
TNS quickly upped the tempo in response with Steve Evans heading narrowly wide from another Ruscoe free-kick, but went ahead again after 66 minutes when Lawless found acres of space on the left and beat defender Nick Evans before firing a fierce shot from 18 yards into the far corner via the post.
Aber striker Moore was one-on-one with Gerard Doherty when adjudged offside in the visitors' only real threat in the remainder of the half, but Hogan sealed the win as the visitors pushed forward in search of an equaliser.
