Saints clinch the title - at last!

THE New Saints finally clinched their third title in a row a week late and they kept their supporters biting their fingernails to the end!
John Leah smashed in a 20-yarder with five minutes to go to spark on-pitch celebrations in a hail of champagne.
But TNS did it the hard way, twice being forced to come from behind against a Druids side that battled hard and refused to lie down.
Early efforts from Alfie Carter and Steven Beck raised hopes of a canter, but the Ancients had other ideas and when Lee Jones latched on to a long clearance from keeper Carl Edwards, his audacious 35-yard lob caught Gerard Doherty in no man's land and nestled in the back of the net.
But the Saints hit back within five minutes when Chris King's free-kick was headed on by Carter and Greg Stones smashed a 15-yarder past Edwards.
Duane Courtney had the ball in the net only to be ruled offside and Michael Wilde's long range header had keeper Edwards scrambling, but sailed just over the bar.
And the Ancients produced another shock when Doherty failed to cover the near post at a free-kick after Michael Jackson had fouled and Osian Jones squeezed his effort past the keeper's despairing dive.
When Scott Ruscoe was fouled by Aled Rowlands, referee Neil Morgan awarded a free-kick just inside the box instead of a penalty, but the Saints' disappointment soon turned to joy when King's inswinger flew into the net off Carter's body to send the sides in level at the break.
Carter was just wide with a 57th-minute effort from 18-yards and Edwards made a brilliant save to deny Beck as Saints went in search of a winner.
Wilde got the better of the keeper but his hook back from the byline found nobody at home to capitalise.
A draw looked on the cards, but a well worked free-kick on the left saw the ball find Leah and he took a couple of strides before unleashing the winner past Edwards.
Carter could have added another when he fluffed a three yard chance, but nobody really cared as the whistle blew and the celebrations began.
