Last-gasp equaliser for TNS

THE New Saints came away with a point from Stebonheath Park after giving Llanelli a dose of their own medicine with a last-gasp equaliser.
Trailing to a goal from Wyn Thomas seven minutes from time, TNS looked headed for their first defeat of the campaign. But Jamie Wood won the ball in midfield and fed Michael Wilde, whose cross was turned into his own net by Chris Holloway.
Earlier, Craig Williams had been the provider when his long thrown into the box was headed clear by John Leah, but only as far as Thomas, who smashed it back into the net from just outside the box.
In a game of few clear-cut chances, the main talking point in the first half was the dismissal from the bench of TNS sub keeper Lee Williams following an altercation with fourth official Dean John.
Rhys Griffiths and Chris Holloway fired wide from long range, while the Saints also found it difficult to penetrate some stout defending.
After the Thomas goal, TNS threw the kitchen sink at Llanelli but it all seemed in vain until the late leveller, which was officially credited to John Toner.
"It was a good game in all fairness and you could tell that both sides were pretty evenly matched," said Llanelli manager Peter Nicholas.
