Match report WELSH PREMIER
Lacklustre Rhyl were comprehensively beaten in this largely one sided affair at the Treflan. With the absence of John Stannard and Gareth Wilson being felt in midfield, Rhyl struggled to make any headway against a resolute home defence. Goalkeeper David Walsh, standing in for the suspended Lee Williams made an impressive debut, and Wes Kinney made a second half return after a spell out with injury. Rhyl's efforts to claw back a one-goal deficit at half-time were not helped by the dismissal of Aaron Thomas early in the second half, and with their numerical advantage the hosts terrorised the Rhyl defence. Paul Whitfield pulled off a host of great stops to keep the score down but at the end of the day, there can be no complaints after a poor display. Rhyl's best chance of scoring came in the first half when goalkeeper Mark Deegan blocked Danny Barton's effort on a one-on-one.
