SWANS MAINTAIN 100% RECORD

SWANSEA City maintained their 100% record in Group C of the FAW Premier Cup with 2-1 win at the Recreation Ground last night.
The home team started brightly creating a number of openings without really threatening Jason Jones' goal but Coates' strike after 23 mins "rocked them back on their heels".
There were chances at both ends as the two 'keepers, Jones and Smith distinguished themselves early in the second half. Sub O'Leary added the visitors second, after 76 mins with a fine right foot drive but the home team responded spiritedly.
It was no surpise when Toner reduced the arrears from the edge of the box with ten minutes to go. Both teams had further chances as both Jason Price for the visitors, and Timmy Edwards for the home team, had shots cleared off the line.
The game was a credit to both sides in difficult conditions with a blustery wind and pouring rain.
