Match report FAW PREMIER CUP
Total Network Solutions gave themselves a fighting chance of progress to the quarter finals of the FAW Premier Cup, with an emphatic 4-0 win over Connah's Quay Nomads at the Recreation Ground.
Despite the home team losing 'keeper Paul Smith in the 9th minute with a broken finger, the visitors rarely threatened his stand-in, midfielder, Mark Roberts as TNS had not named a 'keeper substitute.
With Nick Welton converting Ricky Evans cross in the 3rd minute, the home team had an early advantage but the second goal provided decisive, when Chris Edge's speculative shot somehow slipped through the visitors custodian, Phil Collister's legs - a real howler!
Two more strikes from Welton within a minute after 49 and 50 minutes to complete a hat-trick gave the home team a comfortable win. Visitors' manager, Neville Powell was left looking very rueful after such a poor display from his underperforming team.
