Match report WELSH PREMIER

TNS gained a hard-earned point at title rivals Barry Town in front of the Welsh Premier's largest crowd of the season.
Boss Ken McKenna described the weekend’s results against fellow title contenders Barry Town as a good point well earned away from home, adding “Obviously we would have like more from the game, but in fairness it was a good result.”
Barry have long been TNS’s arch rivals and McKenna has made no secret of using them as a yard stick to measure the progress of his Llansantffraid side, so how did the Saints measure up?
“I think we’re right up there now,” said McKenna. “There’s not much difference and we’re both good sides. Barry have a good all round game and pass the ball well and they have a new goalkeeper who looks good too."
“We were much the same. We had no outstanding players, but played as a team and did not give away many chances.”
McKenna said that his side’s hard earned point at Barry had provided the best possible build up to the nailbiter against Cardiff City in the Premier Cup Quarter Finals.
“That is going to be a difficult game no matter what side they bring down,” said McKenna, but he went on to say that he felt his side had more than a good chance of taking something away from the match, adding: “If we play as well as we can, I don’t see why we can’t do well against them.”
TNS are still trying to recover from a run of injuries to key players and go into the game with many still unfit, but the Saints are hoping that they could see the return of one of their midfield heroes in time for the weekend.
“John Leah looks like he might get back for the match, which would give us a really big lift,” said McKenna, but he admitted that whatever side he puts out against Cardiff can expect a tough match.
