TNS on the ball against BangorIT WAS a day of mixed emotions for TNS manager Ken McKenna as his side finally had to come to terms with their failure to keep Barry's title bid at bay.
"I'm disappointed and happy at the same time," McKenna said. "We've ended with 80 points which should have been enough to win the title. But congratulations to Kenny Brown and his team as they are worthy champions.
" They have lost only twice, were unbeaten away and kept 18 clean sheets. That's a fantastic achievement."
Justin Perry and John Toner put the hosts 2-0 up inside 11 minutes before Kenny Burgess hit back for the Citizens.
But Bangor's hopes were dented by Simon Heal's volley, six minutes into the second period. Lee Hunt made it 3-2 before Perry's second sealed it.
Perry's brace took him to joint top scorer for the season with Scott Ruscoe.
With just nine goals each, it underlined Saints' weakness up front throughout the whole campaign.
