NEWTOWN MAINTAIN UNBEATEN START

A STUNNING strike from defender Jason Evans helped maintain Newtown's unbeaten start to their League campaign.
The defender put the Robins on course for the points when he curled home a stunning free-kick from the left edge of the box on 33 minutes.
Both sides had their chances but the visitors looked more incisive in attack.
And Newtown moved further ahead in the 63rd minute when Justin Wickham pounced on a rebound for his second league goal.
Saints, who like their rivals were back in domestic action after the glamour of playing in Europe, rekindled their hopes when Adie Jones broke through to shoot home on 71 minutes, after Andy Edwards had flicked the ball on.
But Newtown were not to be denied a deserved victory and clinched the win when Mark Williams calmly slotted home 11 minutes from time.
They could have increased the margin had Keith Holman not seen his last minute penalty saved by keeper Andy Mulliner.
