HOT AND COLD SAINTS LOSE TO RHYL
SAINTS continue to blow hot and cold as lowly Rhyl revived their hopes of beating the drop. Having beaten the Seasiders last week at Belle Vue, Saints found the going tough in the return. Rhyl grabbed the game's decisive goal on the half hour when Phil Davies sneaked in as the home defence dithered. Although the front runner's lob over keeper Andy Mulliner struck the post, Gary Powell was first to react to head into an empty net. Powell went close to adding a second when he broke free, but his effort was deflected into the side netting by Mulliner. Saints stepped up a gear after the break with a Garry Evans' 30-yard volley well saved by Rhyl stopper Haigh on the hour. |
