SAINTS CAST ASIDE CUP BLUES
ADIE Jones netted twice as Saints cast aside their cup blues by gaining instant revenge against Bangor.
Both sides had chances, but the encounter turned in Saints' favour after Bangor keeper Mark Deegan was sent off on the hour for handling outside the box.
Defender Steve Ashton took over between the posts and had no chance from Adie Jones' free kick which flew into the top left hand corner.
The hosts then took full advantage by notching two more goals to stay on course for a top six finish.
Bangor made a fine start after taking a fourth minute lead through Alun Evans.
But Saints hit back in the 26th minute when Jones crossed from the left to the far post, John Whelan headed back across goal and Mottram made no mistake.
Jones added his 34th league and cup goal of the season on 73 minutes, heading home after Ashton could only get his fingertips to John Whelan's cross.
And any hopes Bangor had of salvaging the game were crushed eight minutes from time when Garry Evans volleyed home from close range after Gary Curtiss's cross had been knocked back by Jones.
