SLOPPY DEFENCE COSTS TNS DEAR
NEW boss Tony Henry watched Saints slip to defeat as they paid the price for sloppy defending in a game they should have won.
Despite starting brightly, TNS were rocked in the 31st minute when Mike Delaney cashed in on some hesitancy to drill home a deflected strike.
Worse followed on the stroke of half-time when Colin Pascoe was left unmarked to head home Ceri Williams's free kick.
And the defence was again found wanting when Pascoe added a second from an other Williams free kick six minutes into the second half.
But TNS turned in an encouraging second half display and reduced the arrears on 68 minutes with a header from Adrian Jones after a Gary Curtiss corner.
The lively front runner then slotted home a second eight minutes later after Dai Morgan had saved Damien Currier's initial shot.
Chances continued to flow and Simon Abercrombie marked his return to the club with an impressive display, but Saints were left to reflect on their charitable defending earlier in the match.
