SAINTS FALL TO LATE RHYL STRIKE
THRASHED 5-0 at Treflan on the opening day of the season, Rhyl more than made amends by knocking TNS out of the Cup.
Although they should have been favourites after a 1-1 draw at Belle Vue, the Saints created few goal scoring opportunities.
In a tough encounter, it was the visitors who eventually made the breakthrough in the final minute.
To add insult to injury it was former Saint Gary Powell, who crashed the ball past keeper Gerard Doherty in injury time after the home defence had failed to clear a right wing cross. Powell also scored Rhyl's first leg goal.
