Birthday boy Morgan scores winner
The Saints wasted an opportunity to go top of the Konica league of Wales as they slid to their first defeat of the season.
Tommy Morgan, the player/manager, celebrated his 36th birthday in style by grabbing the match winner after only seven minutes as the Seasiders broke after conceding a corner.
But Morgan was the first to admit that Llansantffraid did enough to at least share the honours, particularly in the second half which they dominated.
Andy Mulliner denied Aber’s Martin Griffiths a second with a finger-tip save while at the other end goalkeeper Dave Morgan was relieved to scoop an Andy Edwards header against the post and away to safety.
Llansantffraid piled on the pressure after the break. Edwards headed against the bar. Jason Weetman also went close with three successive headers.
The outstanding Dave Williams was denied by Morgan and a goal line clearance by Robbie Jones.
Throwing caution to the wind Llansantffraid left holes at the back and Kevin Morrison headed against a post.
The Saints then had Gary Jones to thank for clearing off the line.
