Saints win in the mud

Billy Morris struck twice in Llansantffraid’s 3-2 victory against Briton Ferry in the Konica League of Wales.
The game was all about which team could adapt best to the farcical conditions, with the ball either skidding viciously or getting stuck in one of the many pools on the pitch.
Llansantffraid went behind to a Simon Dyer tap-in after 17 minutes, but struck back within two minutes. David Williams crossed from the far right for Andy Edwards to head home his 10th goal of the season.
Morris should have put the Saints ahead when clean through but was denied by a brilliant save from the Ferry keeper Martin Rees. He made amends on 40 minutes however.
Adam Burgess put Edwards through and Morris side-footed his square pass past Rees.
Morris increased the lead in the 62nd minute. Substitute Steve Clifford collected the ball on the right and centred for the striker to finish in style.
Ferry were not finished though. Nicky Hill pulled one back five minutes later and thought he had got an equaliser but his goal bound shot stuck in the goalmouth quagmire.
