SAINTS TAKE ADVANTAGE

BATTLING Llansantffraid gave themselves some valuable breathing space in their quest to escape the Konica League basement after winning 3-0 at struggling Maesteg Park.
Park, who have just one point to their name this season, started brightly before having midfielder Carwyn Arnold sent off for two bookable offences in the first half.
The Saints made the most of their one-man advantage and took a valuable lead on the stroke of the interval when Simon Abercrombie's corner was headed home at the second attempt by Mike Watt.
Ten minutes after the restart, the visitors stretched the margin when Abercrombie's cross was only half stopped and Tommy Morgan fired the rebound into an unguarded net.
Gary Jones sealed victory in the 80th minute when he took the ball around the keeper to score following a surging run into the box.
