RHYL END WINNING RUN
RHYL ended the Saints' five-match winning streak to record their third consecutive victory in a Konica League clash played in foul conditions.
Propelled by the driving wind and rain, Rhyl bossed the first half and Adie Jones hit the bar with a free kick after eight minutes.
It came as no real surprise when Paul Mullen hammered them ahead in the 14th minute, although a wicked deflection off Tony Henry wrong-footed keeper Andy Mulliner.
Mullen set up Timmy Steel after 23 minutes and he shrugged off a tackle to blast home his 12th goal of the campaign.
Tommy Morgan and Kevin O'Neill missed chances for the Saints but Rhyl might have increased their lead at the break as Scott Millington and Timmy Edwards squandered golden chances.
It was the visitors' turn to force the issue after the interval and Gary Evans struck a 30-yard free kick narrowly wide.
Ian Evans had a shot deflected past the post and Morgan blasted a clear chance over the bar after goalkeeper Ian Haigh had mistimed his goal kick.
Rhyl's defence stood firm and with eight minutes left, Steel made a surging run down the left to create an opening for Tony Lee to drill in the killer third goal from 18 yards.
Mike Brown pulled one back for the Saints two minutes from time but it was too late to make any difference.
