LATE LEVELLER EXTENDS UNBEATEN RUN

TNS stretched their unbeaten run to five games after salvaging a 1-1 draw with leaders Bangor City at Treflan courtesy of a late scrambled goal from defender Steve Evans.
Bangor, the only side with a 100 per cent record in the League of Wales before the game, had taken a deserved interval advantage courtesy of a Kenny Burgess volley.
But Saints stepped up a gear in the second period and, with time running out, reaped their reward six minutes from time.
Ricky Evans sent a free kick into the box which was met by the head of Tommy Holmes, keeper Phil Priestley saved low down to his left, but the ball squirmed out of his grasp on the goalline and Steve Evans, at full stretch on the ground, gratefully headed into the net.
Bangor had fully merited their interval lead after a long clearance from keeper Priestley on '37 minutes was met by Burgess who planted his first time volley over keeper Dean Williams from 16 yards on the right.
Burgess and Marc Lloyd Williams both had further chances in the box only to be denied by the home keeper.
But TNS looked more cohesive after the break with Anthony Wright pushing one effort wide while moments later a Priestley clearance rebounded off the striker and flew; narrowly past the post.
With Steve Evans and Steve Anthrobus both squandering opportunities, time appeared to be running out for the Saints before Evans forced in his late leveller.
Despite being on the back foot, Bangor could still have snatched the points in the dying seconds when Lloyd Williams curled an effort agonisingly wide of the far post after cutting in from the right.
