Former striker haunts Saints
Porthmadog striker Dave Taylor came back to haunt his old team by scoring a hat-trick to condemn the Saints into deeper relegation. The afternoon started brightly enough for Graham Breeze’s men as Mike Davies and Carlton Miller exchanged passes to carve an opening for Stuart Tulloch who netted after 18 minutes. The lead should have been extended as Miller and debutant Alan Woan missed golden opportunities as the Saints continued to pressure the Porthmadog defence. But the visitors were always dangerous on the break and levelled through the lively Marc Lloyd-Williams in the 31st minute. Taylor then added two more from close range before the interval, punishing slack marking in the home defence. The league's top scorer completed his hat-trick on 64 minutes when his cross cum-shot eluded recalled keeper Andy Mulliner and found the net. The scoring was completed on 75 minutes when Chris Banks converted following a corner. |
