Battling Saints push league leaders

Llansantffraid looked anything but a side destined for relegation as they gave Konica League of Wales leaders Bangor City a real run for their money.
New player-boss Ian Clarke was pleased by his side’s gutsy display, but obviously disappointed at losing three valuable points.
The player who did most to condemn the villagers to defeat was ex-Welshpool striker Frank Mottram.
He laid on the first goal for Bangor’s Steve Humphreys in the 14th minute, and then applied the killer touch to a left-wing cross just five minutes after Llansantffraid had equalised.
After an even first-half, Saints dominated the opening 20 minutes of the second period, and deservedly equalised with a cracking shot from the edge of the box by midfielder Jason Weetman.
But Mottram killed the home celebrations, and Llansantffraid were restricted to long range shots by Carlton Miller as they searched in vain for a second equaliser.
