Lloyd-Williams fires TNS to last eight

MARC Lloyd-Williams again prove a thorn in the side of his former club as he came off the bench to fire Saints into the last eight and a guaranteed £15,000 in prize money.
Rested from the starting line-up, he made his appearance on the hour with the score level at 1-1 and within four minutes turned the game with a trademark goal.
A long clearance eluded Aber defender Sion James and was helped on by Mike Wilde for Lloyd-Williams to pick his spot from just inside the box.
Saints just about shaded a closely-contested game in which they took a 21st minute lead.
John Toner fed Wilde who ran into the box before firing a shot across Lewis Solly and into the far corner.
John Leah had earlier gone close with a 25-yard free-kick, with Bari Morgan firing dangerously close from six yards at the other end.
TNS couldn't find their usual tempo and with poor supply from the flanks, Toner and Wilde had difficulty breaking down a stubborn Aber rearguard.
The Seasiders looked threatening on the break and when a superb long ball found Owen Thomas wide on the left, he forced Gerard Doherty into a good diving save.
But four minutes before the break, former TNS midfielder David Bridgwater crossed from the right after his corner kick had been headed away and Sion Meredith sneaked in at the near post to head the equaliser.
A poor clearance by Jimmy Aggrey allowed Meredith to send a good shot towards the angle which Doherty did well to tip over for a corner, but once TNS had nosed in front they held out against some spirited Aber raids, despite looking uncertain at the back.
Five minutes from time, Wilde could have settled it but Solly made a good stop from his header after a Martin Naylor corner.
