RIVALS HAPPY TO SETTLE FOR DRAW
CAERSWS continued their excellent start to the FAW Premier Cup campaign, with a battling home draw against TNS at the Recreation Ground. In difficult conditions with a blustery wind making life difficult, both teams tried to play football although it was no surprise when leading scorer, Graham Evans gave the home team the lead after 22 mins with another fine strike from 18 yards beyond the reach of Dean Williams. Just as the home team seemed to be taking control of the game, the mercurial Nicky Ward broke the offside trap and chipped Griffiths in the home goal from 18 yards equalising three minutes before the break. Both sides had chances to win the game in the second period but were probably happy to settle for the draw. |
