SAINTS HOLD OUT AT CEFN
TNS MOVED top of the Welsh Premier after maintaining their unbeaten start to their league campaign with a hard fought 1-0 victory at Flexsys Cefn Druids.
Justin Perry, who netted twice in the win over Llanelli, continued his form with the only goal of the game, converting a rebound on 34 minutes after keeper Dave Blower had parried a shot from John Toner.
But the Llansantffraid men were made to work hard for the points against a resolute Flexsys side who had gone close to talking the lead when Danny Watkin brought a fine save from keeper Gerard Doherty with a 22nd minute header.
The Saints, however, gained the upper hand either side of the inteval with Chris Taylor having a headed effort tipped over while Gary Brabin cracked a free kick inches wide.
John Leah and Martin Naylor also fired past the post in the second period while Steve Anthrobus failed to capitalise on a couple of openings.
But Cefn came strong late on and almost salvaged a point three minutes from time when sub Dave Cunnah was denied by a great save.
