After losing the Number One berth to Dean Williams following an erratic first leg Uefa Cup display against Manchester City in 2003, he was restored to the side following a short loan period at Barry Town, but again lost his place through suspension and the arrival of Richard Acton from Altrincham. He started season 2004/5 back as first choice with the gloves and showed renewed confidence with some superb displays to be ever-present during the next three campaigns during which he captained the club. After struggling with in injury in the early part of 2007/8, he lost his place to Paul Harrison and re-signed for Derry City in January 2008.
