Spent seven seasons at TNS and was one of only three survivors, along with Ward and Toner, from the 2000 title-winning side. Tall, strong and inspirational, he is the player most highly regarded by other Welsh Premier managers, a tough-tackling defender who also proves to be reliable wherever he plays. The brother of TNS legend Ricky Evans, Steve scores his share of goals. Joined TNS in February 2000 from Crewe Alexandra after starting out with West Bromwich Albion. Missed the start of season 2003/4 after a hernia operation and was again unavailable until mid-November 2003, but soon resumed normal service to be voted supporters' player of the season. Voted Welsh Premier player of the season 2004/5 by the league managers. Re-selected for the Welsh semi-pro squad in 2004 and 2005. Left in June 2006 to sign a two-year deal with Wrexham, where he was voted player of the season in his first campaign with the club and won the first of seven Welsh international caps against Liechenstein. Made a welcome return to the Saints on transfer deadline day, 2 February 2009.
